Booking

To book me for your wedding, please email alicemariemakeup@outlook.com or fill out my contact form on the website. Please make sure to include the following details with your enquiry:

  • Wedding date

  • Where you will be getting ready on your wedding day

  • Ceremony time and time needed to be ready for

  • Number of people for hair and/or makeup

  • Access time to venue prep room (if you are getting ready at a venue which has a restricted access time)

Once I have received your enquiry and checked my availability, I will send you a personalised quote and booking form which I ask you to complete and return. Once I have received your booking form, I will then take your deposit to secure your booking. I then recommend booking in for your bridal trial.

Trial

Your pre wedding bridal trial is an essential part of your booking. The trial is a time for us to meet, discuss the details of your wedding, practice and perfect your hair and/ or makeup look.

You are welcome to have your trial whenever suits you, however as a guide I recommend booking in around 6-12 weeks before your wedding day. There are a few things you need to do before booking your hair and/ or makeup trial; think of anything which may determine the style of hair and / or  makeup you choose, whether that be the venue, time of year, wedding dress or any accessories or veil which you may be wearing.

To prepare for your trial, please have clean and dry hair ready to be styled. Please also have clean, makeup free skin.

Before your trial, take a look and collect some inspiration images of hair and /or makeup which you love. I also love to see photos of when you have loved your own hair and / or makeup and have felt your very best. Your wedding photos are forever so you must feel confident and comfortable in the hair and / or makeup you choose. Look at styles that are a similar hair colour to your own. It's amazing how two identical styles can look in two different hair colours.

Think if you may want to wear hair extensions on your wedding day as extensions can add extra volume, thickness and length to your hairstyle. If this is something which you are considering, I am able to offer advice and recommendations. It is helpful to have any hair extensions or accessories which you may be planning to wear on the wedding day at your trial.

At the end of your trial, I will take photos and write detailed notes to enable me to re create the look again on your wedding day. After your trial, I will email you a schedule for your wedding day with timings to have everyone hair and makeup ready 1 hour before your wedding ceremony / or time you need to leave.

Please remember that trials are not just for the bride. If you have anyone in your bridal party who is unsure on their hair / and or makeup look or who is not used to wearing much makeup, I strongly advise booking a trial for them too.

Wedding Day

On the morning of your wedding, I will arrive 15 minutes before the first person scheduled in my chair to set up my kit. Depending on the facilities at your venue / prep address, I will bring my own professional makeup lighting and makeup chair.

Following my pre planned schedule, I will begin the hair and / or makeup for yourself and your bridal party. I ask for everybody to arrive with clean, dry hair ready to be styled and clean, makeup free skin. I also ask that everybody who has not had a pre wedding trial to have an idea or photo of the hair and / or makeup look which they wish to achieve.

In most circumstances, I stick to the following timings for bride and bridal party hair and makeup:

  • Bride Hair - 1 Hour

  • Bride Makeup - 1 Hour

  • Bridal Party Hair - 45 minutes

  • Bridal Party Makeup - 45 minutes

Depending on your preference, I recommend that the bride goes second to last for hair and / or makeup. I will discuss this with you at your trial and plan accordingly.

I plan to get every bridal party ready at least 1 hour before your ceremony time (if you're getting ready and married at the same location) or 1 hour before you need to leave (if you're getting ready and married in different locations). This then gives you enough time to get in your dress and have any pre wedding photos taken. If you would like to be ready earlier than 1 hour before, please let me know and I can arrange for this.

I often take photographs of hair and makeup to share on my social media and website unless you withdraw consent via email to alicemariemakeup@outlook.com

After your special day, I love to hear how it all went and see any professional images which you may have. Please share any images which particularly show off your hair and / or makeup for me to add to my portfolio.

Finally, your reviews really help to support my business so I would really appreciate it if you could spare some time after your wedding to leave a review of my service.
